Had to update a bunch and then use the new installer. On game launch, it told me that it was missing a number of files. Reading the forums it was suggested to contact the devs to get the missing files. At this point, I had already invested too much time trying to install and update the game, so I uninstalled and stopped caring about it. This is the nutshell version.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on CM games and I did enjoy them but anytime I have to reinstall I would cringe and then eventually decided it wasn't worth the trouble.
Ask for a refund.
Hmm missing files almost always means your AV or anti-malware software is blocking files from being installed. Also the master installers are usually updated fairly quickly after updates/patches are released. In which case... only this installer is needed to be fully updated. No fiddling with multiple installers.
Gentlemen, thank you for the replies about the installer and other related crap but please understand that I have zero intention of spending any more time trying to sort it out. Just the thought of scrolling through the abortion of my order history screen and figuring out all the keys and everything again just makes me want to vomit. Let us just rejoice in the fact that CM is making its way over to Steam where great things are going to happen to the CM series and Battlefront studio. Also with the move to Steam conversations like these will never be had again.
