OMG! Who/how/what destroyed all my body armor with one shot!?
After the first two turns I was thinking "please be over soon, please be over soon".
Is the weapon I have now really that much better so as to give up the benefit of the two-hex
range of my other weapon?

Well, we had just finished a difficult battle and were heading back to town for the reward when these guys popped out. Several of us had damaged armor and were wounded at the beginning of this battle. Don't worry, it has all been repaired now. :)

Yea, I think your single tile range mace is better in most battles. There are some legendary, unique enemies, however, such as the Kracken, that you do not want to get close to, so I'm trying to get all the front line fighters in the company nice one and two tile range weapons, to be swapped out depending on the situation.

Actually Terry, my apologies. Upon further review, I believe your two tile (i.e. two hex) mace is probably the superior weapon for most battles.

They are both fine weapons, to be sure, but the two tile striking range is a big advantage, especially for a front line fighter who isn't holding the flanks. Switching weapons. :)

Lesson coming up, for those who care.

FGM Vs a dozen Unholds. Unholds (giants, basically) have a ton of hitpoints, and love to plow through formations and toss them around like a salad.

I didn't really want to do this fight, but it paid well.

The thing about these high hitpoint opponents is you have to play the long game. Let their injuries add up. The more injuries you can inflict on them, the more ineffective they become. So, just keep piling on the hits and let them drown in their own ineffectiveness as their injuries continue to accumulate. :)
