My next step will be to get into online play soon to check it out, i'll post a report in this thread.

Sounds like a nice weekend afternoon....

Nice thing i thought about IL2 online was that people with their own custom skins you could actually see when you enabled that option.

FORMATION TESTS (v 4.10.1)

Veteran quality, default spacing distance, I used a 4-plane schwarm with the 109's, and a 3-plane vic with the Spits.
Key sequence is Tab> 2 > 8 > 5 > select.
(Note:- they were all very slow to respond to the formation change order, taking a good 2 minutes or so to reach their final positions)

I also tested the Loosen order (Tab > 2 > 8 > 4 > select), but hardly noticed any change after issuing the order just once.
I had to issue it 6 times back-to-back (without waiting each time) to nudge them further out to achieve the following Loose spreads-

I played via a cable connection, so we basically played with computers back to back. We were both beginners and had no joysticks but it was an absolute riot. We played for a dollar a killed pilot so if you shot the other guys plane out and he parachuted out you had to kill him before he hit the ground. I would be interested in trying via the web.
 
What is the current patch status? Last time i played my install i think i was on 4.08??

Whats everyone on these days?
