Return to Magna Graecia - Turn 3

Darn, this isn't the "Year of Pyrrhus"... :poop: But never too late to turn into something good! (was looking for a flower emoji here...)

Absolutely! Is the Roman army staying to fight too?

He has to -- only defender gets option to withdraw before battle :)

Ok, we have a second Battle of Maleventum.

Rome Army I
Strength: 13
Allies from Capua (+2 modifier) + 8 die roll = 10 --> +2 strength points added

Total Rome Army I strength: 15

Pyrrhus Army II
Strength: 8
Allies from Luceria: Die roll 8 --> +1 sp
Allies from Asculum: Die roll: 4 --> +1 sp
Allies from Venusia (Samnite City modifier +2) Die roll: 8 +2 = 10 --> +2 sp
Allies from Maleventum (Samnite City modifier +2) Die roll: 3 + 2 = 5 --> +1 sp

Total Pyrrhus Army II strength: 13

I believe that my army is size 8. See PM.

The Second Battle of Maleventum
  • Strength difference is 2 in Roman favour (15-13), why the Roman side will have 1600 FP and the Pyrrhic 1520 FP. (+40 FP difference for each strength difference.)
  • Allies were successfully called from Samnite cities for the Pyrrhic side, so it must use Samnite 355-272 BC allies.
  • Getting allies from Capua doesn't result in any army list for allies for the Romans.
The game is therefore now set up with the TT Mod 1.5.32b as:

@kronenblatt Pyrrhus 280-275 BC with Samnite 355-272 BC allies (1520 FP)
versus
@Nathangun Roman 280-220 BC (1600 FP)

Mediterranean Hilly terrain.

Have a good game guys. I'll be waiting at my villa in Neapolis for news of a great Roman victory.
Now, where's that pizza?

Neapolis is dangerously close to Vesuvius... And to the front! Besides, from what I've heard, it was the Epirotes who brought the pizza to Italy. So it will all depend on the outcome of The Second Battle of Maleventum whether you get your pizza or not!

Any news from Maleventum? I'm looking forward to the renaming ceremony, been shopping for a smart new toga.:cool:
We’ve so far unfortunately only managed to chip in one turn each per day. Hopefully more going forward, although I’m only available evenings and early mornings during work days.
