PAULOONDRA IN ACTION- How to win a Combat Mission Tournament-

First game, winner Pauloondra, major vic
1- My northern panzer group is caught in the open and loses the tank battle..
2- My southern panzer group goes straight down the road but finds itself in a 'death valley' hemmed in by houses which disrupt their fields of fire..
PaulooRusA.gif

Second game, winner Pauloondra, minor vic
1- I lose these 2 T-34's early
2- So decide to launch this deep strike into his flank, but he's bought many Marders and my T-34's are cut to pieces
3- I edge these 3 T-4's down the centre but they lose the tank engagement in that sector.
4- I hurl my final few T-34's deep into his rear and knock out 3 Stugs but it's far too late to affect the outcome of the battle

Some combat footage from the Pauloondra games-
Groan..In random-map heavy-trees QB's like these you need eyes in the back of your head because enemy fire can come ripping through the woods from any direction as Pauloondra's T-34's squeeze shots between the tree trunks and houses to knock out a panzer..
PaulooA.gif

I send my T-34 on 'fast' to root out one of Pauloondra's Stugs spotted earlier lurking behind the house, but (gulp) there are 3 of them back there and my boy gets toasted, dying before he can even get off a shot..

Yes, well done the both of you !

POS, this tournament must have been harder then the previous ones you organized. This time the battlefield was different evey game, so you couldn't benefit from the experiences from other battles. And playing so many games simultaiously. How did you manage to live apart from that ?

....And playing so many games simultaiously. How did you manage to live apart from that ?

Many people's attitude is- "Real life comes first, and wargaming comes second"
But my attitude has always been the reverse, to me wargaming IS real life and everything else comes second..:)
Patton nicely summed up that 'eternal warrior' mindset-

Through a Glass, Darkly
by Gen George Patton

Through the travail of the ages,
Midst the pomp and toil of war,
Have I fought and strove and perished
Countless times upon this star

So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

So forever in the future,
Shall I battle as of yore,
Dying to be born a fighter,
But to die again, once more.

Also I never married or had kids because i never wanted to, so I've been free to do whatever I liked all my life, and now I'm retired I'm even more free..:)
But I have to admit there are times I'd have liked a loving wife to come home to, but I'd have felt caged and trapped so it just never happened..

STATISTICS BREAKDOWN

Of the 41 games finished-

Russian players Won 24
German players Won 8
Draws- 9

Obviously the Russians did best because of their numerical superiority, due to the cheapness of their T-34's at the purchase screen.

Just for the record my stats were- Won 22, Lost 10, Drew 9

...some people are meant for certain things in life and it seems you are meant for Wargaming.
..Recently, I decided to let a woman into my life and my fiance has moved in..

Lucky you mate, the only women I ever seem to meet are a crackpot assortment of nuts and sluts, slags and bags..:)
Yes, it seems my destiny is at the keyboard-
"Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle"- Psalm 144:1
