IL STURMOVIK 1946

Sure, but as said before, I don't fly online anymore... sorry. I was squadron leader in Falcon 4 for a couple of years, but that's history now...
 
I just bought IL-1946 dirt cheap and took this TB-3 up for a spin-

My Pe-2 flies through a storm of Jerry flak over the Smolensk bridges.
PILOT- "Where's our left engine gone?"

Incidentally my IL-1946 is version 4.07 out of the box, so I need to patch up to 4.10.
Do I just slap it on top of 4.07 or do I have to install patches 4.08 and 4.09 in sequence first?

PS- IL 1946 is stretched out horizontally on my 28" widescreen (ie wheels and circles are oval instead of round) and it stays like that no matter what resolution I use.
Any advice?

You need to go through all the patches 4.08m + 4.09m + 4.10m
 
Ok now I'm all patched up and solved the resolution thing ha ha..:)
 
Great, IL2 Stab is a very useful utility. To have things look good, I also use Mat Manager 2.36 for more realistic markings and Paint Victories to add victory markings on my planes.
 
If your graphic card can do it, you should add AA x 4 and AF x 8 to get a good looking game. Options are not in the game or in IL2 Stab, you have to use the graphic card utility ( Catalyst Center for my ATI)
Be also careful on the graphic card drivers updating as for me I had to revert to a previous one... this is an old engine.
 
You also have everything and install guides at mission4today...
In my present career, I fly a FW190A4 around Kursk in 1943 after some missions on a Bf109 E7/B around Rzhev in winter 42/43. I much prefer the Bf109 to the FW190 but you follow what Goering tells you...

And its dirt cheap now, I picked mine up for only about 7 GB pounds (11 US dollars); I think the reason the price is low is because the IL-2 Cliffs of Dover version is going to be released soon.
I'd normally have waited for Cliffs to come out, but IL-1946 was so cheap I couldn't resist it.
Anyway I'll get Cliffs too when its released.
