The Battle of Capracotta - CMFI QB campaign

Some soggy Axis Pixeltruppen after conducting a water crossing at Ponte Galliano.

Allied Pixeltruppen getting some target practice in.

Damn smoke and dust from the on-going battle at Capracotta making it difficult to identify Axis targets.

PFC Guthrie, team leader for a light mortar takes over when the primary mortar gunner is hit at the battle of Capracotta. Guess he knows how to use the equipment still!

Yeah, those bloody super-powered light mortars are an absolute pain ... you park them behind a wall and they survive just about everything you throw against them.... and manage to single-handedly wipe out whole platoons of infantry.

My Pixeltruppen getting hit with Axis artillery at Capracotta, again! Must have been a priority attack to get so much support.
Cap 5.JPG

But good news, scored a direct hit on the big 150mm.

And even better news, the Beast is dead at the battle of Ponte Galliano!

Ponte Galliano is still a hot spot! This M-10, emboldened by killing the Tiger, pushes forward to engage enemy infantry. It did escape a first shot by a Panzerschreck team, but not the second.

The German attack on the CAPRACOTTA zone has been repulsed ... 1. Btn Kampfgruppe Steiner pulls back to lick its wounds.

The battle for PONTE GALLIANO still rages on... the British M-10 that nailed the Tiger is finally knocked out with a Panzerschreck hit... surviving crew member is seen making for the rear ...

Fighting amongst the vineyards is tricky business...

Obergefreiter Altschuler's section make the dubious decision to advance in the open up the main road (their orders were actually to advance on the other side of the wall -- but you know, CM...sigh) ... the imposing main objective, Casa Galliano can be seen on the left, the knocked out enemy tank destroyer ahead...

The round from the AT gun went right through the front armor on through the open crew compartment. The tracer looks weird due to the angle, the Grille was on top of a hill and the AT gun was lower. In the video you can see how the second shot caused all the 150mm ammo to detonate in a spectacular explosion. *the German SP gun was a Grille not a Hummel.

Ponte Galliano has become quite the infantry battle!
This Axis assault into the walled compound was stopped by small arms and hand grenades. Interesting, one of the German Pixeltruppen was just releasing his Stielhandgranate when he was shot. The grenade actually fell short and wounded one of his own comrades. (It's just the little things in this game!)

One of my Lieutenants is trying to win the hearts and minds of the enemy by having a civil conversation. This lasted for several seconds until the German rifleman shot him in the face!
