World of Tanks Roll Call

Imma gonna give this a try. I always liked the brute force aspect of the KV-5 (Duh!), particularly useful when high tier. Given it never has to face Tier X tanks it can even perform
well at Tier IX. The main problem with it is the large R2D2 unit perched on the front of the upper hull. Anyone that has a basic knowledge of the KV-5 just shoots me there,
usually making my life expectancy a fairly short one. Setting it up as a Ram Master might reduce the amount of time red tanks have to shoot at my R2 unit as panic may well
occur when they see this beastie lumbering in on them for a ram. Plus, I won't be sitting back giving them all the time they want to bang away at my weak point(s).
I also believe it is getting buffed significantly with the next patch, including a 152mm gun!
Report to follow.
----

Hmm. Definitely NOT having the success with the KV-5 that QB demonstrated.
Been unable to get the ol' girl up to enough speed to ram anyone. Plus, all my battles have ended up with my getting kinda swarmed by
the Red guys so no real chance to focus on ramming. Will keep at it for a while longer.
Also, change in rumors. It is not the KV-5 that is getting its gun buffed. It is the Type V Heavy with the 150mm gun. Just what it needs.

Did you put the turbo on it and train your driver up on controlled impact? Add the reconfiguration and hardening equipment? Are you a Unicom? Oh wait, I think we found the issue...

Whooa! OMG! Check this out.
My first reaction was "Too much! Just making things even more complicated!" However, after watching the whole thing it starts to have a bit more appeal.
The mechanics of it all actually seems pretty straight forward. The problem, as I see it, is that unless you want to give up some small, competitive, edges
for the purposes of your sanity, you are pretty much going to want to take advantage of these modifications. Small as they may be. I think I like this and
understand the appeal. Sure, it's just another money grab by WG. Although you can buy the upgrade sets for credits and the fine tuning you get by having the
tank as a premium or elite status. At least I think that's the way it works. Doesn't mean it can't be sorta fun as well (for a change).
"How many tanks did you say you have, mTk?"
And there, folks, lies the problem.

That's great. Now if they could just put some f***ing new maps into the mix, the game might be a whole hell of a lot more interesting.

Yeah, odd to see something WG may/is adding to the game that isn't a total piece of cac (like Skill sez).
Although I still do not understand all the time, effort and resources WG just used to revamp the HE shells.
I guess the Russian players didn't like their invulnerable front armor on the heavies get their paint scratched from time to time.

I don't think we'll be alone w/our complaints if the HE rework messes with our favorite HE derp tanks. I haven't seen WG explain how they're going to handle that. Players'
argument is that we payed real $ for our KV-2(R) (and others) and now it has been devalued (maybe). That's pretty much been why WG has taken a vow (correctly or not) to not
mess with premium tanks.
I've got new, favorite tanks atm. The Borrasque, that I just did 3400 damage and 5 kills, is one. The others are the Chinese medium Tier VIII 122 TM and the T-59. They've been
treating me pretty well recently.
Here's my 122 TM. If anyone doesn't have this it is worth looking into. One of those well rounded mediums that does everything pretty well while delivering a 400 damage alpha
round!
That is one sexy camo!

OMG! I just watched QB's video (see below) explaining the new 'Field Modifications" system.
While it looks interesting it is also apparent that it is a huge money grab by WG! The amount of credits and exp that needs to be spent modifying just one
tank is outrageous. I will undoubtedly use it on a couple of my favorite tanks, but probably not much more then that.

Well, Skill is on a rant. He doesn't do it all that often. I mean he's a CC (content contributor) so it is understandable he doesn't (usually) want to put his arrangement(s) with
WG at risk. That said, as with all good CC's (I think there are only 22 of them total, but not real sure of that) he is frequently critical of WG and the long running (some
recently created) problems with the game. This is one of those times. Although it is a little unusual because he goes off on a real laundry list of things WG needs to address.
I can say this one does not surprise me. A little while ago he noted that the CC's had been in discussion w/WG about the upcoming 1.13 patch. The CC's, as a group (about
70%), had voiced dislike for many of the things WG is getting ready to release upon the WoT community...and he said they were basically ignored. So, his pent up displeasure
is released in this video. I'd give WG a (y) if they'd ignore everything else and just address the debacle that is the wheeled vehicles.
Anyway, Skill knows this game better than the WG employees (which he displays in this video). Since Skill is taking these matters public I wonder if that will get WG attention?
I mean, he really takes WG to task. Or, maybe WG drops him as not worth the trouble. Not that it would probably stop him from what he does anyway.

Anyway, that leads to the game maps. This one is for you @HOA_KSOP . I used to subscribe to Claus Kellerman (YT) but gave him up because he was just too abrasive for me.
He can, at times, be hilariously funny, entertaining and informative about WoT. Unfortunately, he can also be irritating as H***, and he constantly yells into his microphone causing
me to scramble for my volume control. What finally pushed me away was/is his never ending references to "Russian bias!!" It got so it seemed he was attacking this same issue (almost)
every video, start to finish. "If you think this is soo terrible then quit complaining and play more Russian tanks!!"-mTk
That said, he did release some videos addressing, in his opinion, the dreadful play balance that occurs on some/many maps. He presents a compelling argument.
This is just one. Take a look.

And lastly, I've seen soo many references to tank.gg from WoT You Tubers I finally decided what I should have done years ago and gone and added it to my toolbar. It is an amazing source
of tank information. I will never add another tank to my garage unless I examine it verrry closely using this tool.

I posted that tank.gg site in the website reviews I thought., Thanks for ignoring me, you must be my wife's long lost cousin...

with that said, lose the wheeled armored cars (sorry, they ain't tanks) and the game get's 1000% better. Or leave them in, but make them one hit kills, two hits at the most. Like a 2X multiplier on any caliber average damage.

Skill really slaps them "on their big fat lazy asses"...LOL

I have already watched Claus' broken map vid's. If these are so broken, can you imagine how bad the ones they discontinued were...NOT!

Going to add my name to the roster list "iLittleNose" on the EU server.
18k battles, but haven't played much over the last year or so.. the big change with the tank upgrades threw me off, and I went back to WoW instead... but always happy to come back and play some platoon games.
Consider myself as an ok TD player and at best average in light/mediums... atrocious in a Heavy or Arty.
