We Brits start off with no reverse slope to shelter behind, no cover and no concealment ... under 88mm PaK 43/L71 fire (amongst other things ...) from the first minute ...

mTk informs me that he has played his first half of our turn 012. But it has not shown up in mTk and my DB folder yet. As soon as it does, I will play my half of the turn and forward it along.

Yep, sure does hurt! They went VERY cheaply, and we'll miss them when we encounter the inevitable Panthers and / or Tigers ...
Don't know if it was Nort and mTk targeting them specifically, or the AI ... but the AI does seem VERY adept at picking out any 76mm/17LBer armed variants on the other side to go for first, even when they are at ranges and angles (i.e. front on) where it cannot be all that easy to tell the difference (in some cases) ...
With the vanilla 75mm armed Shermans, you have virtually to drive up alongside the Panther and have your crew knock on the side of it and shout out "I say old man, would you mind awfully considering yourselves KO'd, and vacate your vehicle at your leisure ..."
In another game I've just had one Firefly and two standard Shermans in a short range duel with a Panther ... despite getting the drop on it, and getting a turret front penetration on it by the Firefly and at least three other hits from my three combined, with armour spalling shown for the Panther also, it just sat there without blinking an eye and brewed up all three of the Shermans within a minute turn ... Firefly first, of course ...
