My HT probes the lush fields hoping to identify Nort's American axis of advance and encounters an HMC, and begins hosing it down with 7.92 mm MG fire-

But the US gunner says "My 50-cal is bigger than yours Fritzy", and returns fire. The HMC 75mm gunner also sends a shell winging on its way (large tracer blob) but missed, it flew over the HT and hit a treetrunk behind-

The big half-inch 50-cal slugs slam into the German machine, instantly killing the gunner who vanishes from the screen to be replaced by a red dot (arrowed) to signify he's no longer alive. Seconds later the driver (blue dot) understandably bailed-

After having scored a zook hit on my Panther and forcing it to wildly reverse, one of Ericr4b's HQ team now has the gall to throw a grenade at it (circled, and note the throwers dramatically swinging arm) and knocks it out (inset)-

It seems a Panther acts much more panicky when shot at then it did in CMx1. Looks like green crews in CMBB

Now that surely would have been shot of the tourney if it had dropped into the engine covers.
Very important thing to remember with US squads (HQ included). If they are transported in HTs then there is usually a zook available. The important bit is to remember to "aquire" it, and any ammo before the team gets out. The "acquire" button is on the special "S" tab of the orders menu. Dont leave home without it.

My two Stugs and a Panther have got a nice little defensive position in this lane, facing both ways to guard against anything Nort can throw at them from either direction, surely nothing can harm them?

PS- it's impossible to play with trees toggled on like this or nobody would be able to see a thing.
We can toggle to bare 'trunks only' but they look bleddy awful; I'd like to see a patch to make trees almost transparent so we could keep them 'on' and they wouldn't clutter up the screen-

I was so fixated with the 3 Shers to my front that Bidermann's flanking Sher was able to deliver this sucker punch.
My Marder (circled) fired at him a second later but its shot bounced and the Sher popped smoke and back-pedalled..

Read a post by Steve of Battlefront on this issue and his response was it could be done but the framerate hit was unacceptable. It overpowered the machines they tried it on.

Okay, another idea they could try would be a "tree density" option where we could cycle through "no trees", "partial trees" and "full trees" to select how many will show on map.
Matrix use that in their 'Panzer Command:Ostfront'.

Another idea- BFront could make the ground under patches of trees a different colour so that we'd know trees were there even when they're toggled off, a dark brown perhaps, to signify fallen leaves and twigs, pigeon poo and badger droppings etc that you get in woods.
